J. Gordon MacKay, Q.C.
Gordon is a partner in the firm. He is a Charlottetown native who has been practicing law since 1980. He received his B.Sc. in 1975 from Dalhousie University, and his LL.B. in 1980, from the University of New Brunswick.
Gordon's practice is concentrated in areas of Corporate/Commercial, Civil Litigation, Administrative Law, Labour, Employment and Construction Law.
Gordon is a Past President of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, a Member of the Canadian Bar Association, formerly a Commissioner on the Judicial Remuneration Review Commission (P.E.I.), Past Chair of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation and Honorary Legal Counsel to the P.E.I. Division of Scouts Canada.
He is a Past President of the Law Society of P.E.I., Past Treasurer of the Law Foundation of Prince Edward Island, Past Chair of the Orin Carver Scholarship Trust, and Past Chair of the Prince Edward Island United Way Campaign. Gordon has been a Course Developer and Lecturer for the Prince Edward Island Construction Association Law Course and a Lecturer on Supreme Court Practice with the Law Society of Prince Edward Island Bar Admission Course.
Gordon is past Chair of the Board of the Capital Area Recreation Inc. which operates a recreational complex located on the campus of the University of Prince Edward Island for use by citizens of the Capital Region. He is assistant Vice-President - Facilities of the Prince Edward Island 2009 Canada Games Host Society.
Gordon resides in Charlottetown with his wife, Pat MacKay and they have four daughters.
