Michael A. Farmer, Q.C.

Michael is a graduate of St. Dunstains University and the Dalhousie University Law School and has been practicing law for more than 30 years.

Michael's practice areas include Corporate / Commercial, Securities, Civil Litigation, Real Property and Probate Law.

He has a wide variety of experience in professional, community and charitable organizations. He is a past President of both the Law Society of Prince Edward Island and the Canadian Bar Association - P.E.I. Branch. Michael was Mayor of the Town of Stratford from 1994 to 2003. His experience with charitable organizations includes: President, P.E.I. Division Canadian Cancer Society; National President Canadian Cancer Society; Director, National Cancer Institute of Canada; and Trustee Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

He has been a Director of the Charlottetown Area Development Corporation, Member of the Board of Trustees of Blue Cross Atlantic Canada, Vice-Chairman Atlantic Blue Cross Care, Chairman Blue Cross of Atlantic Canada, Chairman Board of Directors Blue Cross Life Insurance Company of Canada, Member of the Advisory Board of Institute of Cancer Research of the Canadian Institutes for Health Researc (CIHR).

Michael and his wife, Susan, reside in Charlottetown. They have three children, Angela, Michael and Jennifer.
