Doug is a partner in the firm and a graduate of Dalhousie Law School. His primary areas of practice are Administrative Law and Civil Litigation, although he is a general practitioner and maintains quite a varied practice. Doug has been active professionally as a volunteer member of the Council of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island and the executive of the P.E.I. Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, having served as President of both organizations. He has volunteered on numerous committees of the Law Society and the CBA and he is a Past President of the Community Legal Information Association. Doug served as Chair of the Prince Edward Island Mental Health Review Board from 1999 - 2005.
Doug is involved in the community and has volunteered with a number of organizations, including Queens County Residential Services Inc., Tremploy Inc., and the P.E.I. Lung Association, serving as President of each of those bodies. He has also sat on the Board of the Canadian Lung Association. Doug is a proud and long-standing member of the Kinsmen Club of Charlottetown.
Doug enjoys participating in numerous sporting activities, including golf, biking, tennis and skiing, and strives to become proficient in at least one of these. Reading and listening to music of many varieties are favourite pastimes. He travels whenever possible, and has been to some interesting destinations.
